GRTI has evolved to specialize in support services for
the design (mechanical) engineer. Our intent is to offer assistance to those
engineers with little or no experience in GeoExchange applications. We strongly
believe in supporting the GeoExchange industry in an experienced, technically-based
manner. Our emphasis is on the commercial sector of this growing industry.
However, we are able to provide assistance with larger residential projects as well.
- FORMATION Thermal Conductivity Testing
- The collective goal of the industry has always been to install the most
efficient, most reliable systems available at the lowest cost. This quest has paved
the way for Formation Thermal Conductivity Testing (a.k.a. in-situ
testing) of the geology at
the specific project location in order to improve the design of the ground-loop heat
exchanger and better control both the installation cost and long term operational costs.
-
- GROUT Thermal Conductivity Testing
- As mechanical engineers come to realize the importance of
knowing the thermal conductivity of the formation, they soon realize that
knowing the thermal conductivity of the grouting material within the bore
annuals is also critical (even more so than knowing the formation thermal
conductivity). GRTI offers an independent means to analyze and
verify the thermal conductivity of the actual grouting material being used
for any and all vertical grouted installations.
-
- ENGINEERING DESIGN Assistance
- As the geothermal heat pump technology grows, more and more mechanical engineers are
finding themselves involved with GeoExchange applications. Many of these engineers
are interested in furthering their education regarding these applications, but do not have
the experience to feel comfortable in the actual design process of the ground-loop.
GRTI can assist the mechanical engineers by guiding them through the
design process and/or reviewing their design prior to its final completion.
